District 18 Report - October 2024

Greetings Nebraska!,

Mike B, DCM for District 18, in NW Omaha and Elkhorn.

We have all our positions filled except for PCP/PI. If you know of anyone looking for service opportunities, they can attend our next meeting and volunteer. We meet on the 3rd Sunday every month at 1:00 pm at Lord of Love Lutheran Church, 104th and Fort, Omaha, NE. If you can’t make it next week, come to our November meeting where you can hear the delegate's report and enjoy a free ice cream sundae bar. If that’s still not enough time, join us on February 22nd from 11:00-1:00 for a service workshop.

We have completed an audit and updated our prudent reserve for the first time this century. We are on firm financial footing and are continuing to ask our membership for ways to put our extra funds to use sharing our solutions with alcoholics still suffering.

Last week, we held our fall brunch which included a panel presentation on Living Sober. 80 drunks showed up to wash down a hearty meal with nothing stronger than juice or coffee. Lastly, we had a new meeting in District 18. Introducing the Wednesday 12 Step Study. It meets at the First United Methodist Church, 7020 Cass St, Omaha NE.
